My Lovelies

Friday, February 6th, 2009

I am happy to report Charlie is doing good. We had a scare; but, things seem to be turning around for the better.

Interesting side note:  This morning I ran into a teacher at Charlie’s school who stopped to have a chat with us as we waited for the morning bell to ring.  She’s not Charlie’s teacher; hell, I don’t even know her.  But you see, he’s made quite an impression on the staff and faculty.  When he sees a group of teachers he says, “Hello my lovelies!”  They all fall over backwards to pay attention to Charlie.  It’s funny really, and greatly appreciated… not to mention a relief to know he is loved and nurtured when he is not with me.

Anyway, the teacher this morning stopped and said, “Good morning Charlie. Are you feeling better today?” (more…)

Charlie asked me to put this song up today. He’s been listening to it a lot lately. It’s one of his favs. He’s doing good, thanks for all of your emails and kind words!

Happy Cinco De Linco Day!!!!

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Did you see?  Did you see?  Brandon’s loan was fulfilled!  Yippeeee!  That means Charlie is the lone boy up on L4H requesting a loan.  As I said yesterday, I’m not sure if it is a conflict of interest for me to promote Cinco De Linco, and also be on the site requesting a loan.  So here’s what I’ve come up with, if you think it is, don’t participate this month (unless another child is put up on the site today); however, if you think it is NOT a conflict of interest, go ahead on over to Lend4Health and chip in!  We greatly appreciate it! :-)

Here’s a shortcut:

**Here’s a thought, you could hold off until another child is put up on L4H, then make your loan and call it a “belated Cinco De Linco loan” – that would work!  So do whatever you are comfortable with!

Off The Grid

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Hi Gang,

Just wanted to say I’m going AWOL for a few days. Charlie had some blood work come back with disturbing liver/ammonia numbers. I need to focus on him right now.

I will put up my monthly Cinco De Linco post tonight (after he is asleep) in celebration of the big day tomorrow and I hope you’ll join me in celebrating the awesomeness that is Lend4Health!

Oh, and as you all probably know by now, Charlie’s up on the L4H site. We’re seeking a loan to cover the cost of some testing. It’s probably a conflict of interest for me to do Cinco De Linco AND be on L4H; so maybe you could all put your Cinco De Linco loans towards Brandon – he only needs $175!!! We can SO do that guys – we usually raise much more than that!

Say a prayer for Charlie. My little guy is a fighter, but every bit of good energy sent his way will surely help!

Much love!
Jeanne

We’re On Lend4Health Again

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

We decided to use Lend4Health to help us pay for some much needed testing for Charlie.  Tori put us up last night so we’re ready to go!  Remember, Lend4Health is all about micro loans (as I know you all know from my Cinco De Linco Days).  Every little bit really does add up… And then your loan is repaid to you.  Thank you, in advance, for your help!  :-)

Da Suit Rears Its Ugly Head

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Most of you are probably familiar with Kim Stagliano’s Ugly Suit, renamed “Da Suit” as she made her way through the blogosphere – KimâžœO’NeilâžœMeâžœPetraâžœAngâžœand now Karen.  What a long strange trip is has been for our girl!

I am happy to announce the latest winner, Karen Fuller, is guest blogging on CharlieInWonderland so she can share Da Suit’s latest adventure: A trip to Yuba City to visit with Karen Fuller, her son Nick, and the rest of the Fuller family.

So without further ado, I give you guest blogger, Karen Fuller:

Da Suit started life out as a fashion statement.  She knew she was destined for really great things!  Lucky for her she had no idea how really awful she was. She loved the bright lights of the store and all of the attention she received on the racks. “ Pick me, Pick me”, all the suits called out and soon she was chosen by a shopper and admired in the mirror of the dressing room.  The nice shopper said  “ I’ll take it”, Da Suit was excited that she had been chosen. The shopper took Da Suit home and the fashion show began. Da Suit could feel the atmosphere change.  The shopper was asking, “What was I thinking?”  And before Da Suit knew it, she had been stuffed…WITH A PILLOW??? (HERE)  Well, at least pictures were taken for a Publication called BLOG.  Soon Da Suit embarked on an adventure she could never have imagined.  She was shoved into a box and sent on her way.
